Ben Verwaayen
Former CEO, Alcatel-Lucent; Former CEO, BT Group; Partner, Keen Venture Partners
Over the span of more than three decades, Ben Verwaayen has held numerous executive positions at leading telecommunications and technology providers, including CEO of Alcatel-Lucent, CEO of BT Group, president of KPN Telecom and vice chairman of Lucent Technologies.
Currently, he is chairman of the CBI Energy and Climate Change Board in the U.K. and serves on the boards of directors for Akamai, AkzoNobel, Bharti Airtel and Ofcom. He has been made an officer of the Orange Order-Nassau and an Honorary Knight of the British Empire (KBE) and Chevalier de la Légion d’honneur. Ben holds a master’s degree in law and international politics from Utrecht University.
